Pamplona Bullrun 2019

What a great festival we had this year, again Pamplona turned into a sea of white and red, during the days of San Fermín. It's not just a festival, it's a centuries-old tradition, an explosion of joy, music, and, of course, the world-famous Running of the Bulls, or "Encierro." Each morning, for nine exhilarating days, brave (or some might say crazy!) souls known as "mozos" test their courage by running alongside powerful bulls through the narrow streets, all leading to the bullring. It's a spectacle of adrenaline, a dance with danger, and a truly unforgettable experience!

And speaking of unforgettable, let's zoom in on the 2019 San Fermín festival, which was absolutely packed with thrills. If you were looking for the "best" bull run that year – meaning super speedy and exhilarating – then second day was really amazing! The bulls from the Cebada Gago ranch were absolutely flying. They zipped through the 825-meter course in a jaw-dropping 2 minutes and 23 seconds! Seriously, that's practically a blur! It was described as "fast and clean," a real rush for the brave souls in white and red. Of course, a few folks still took a tumble, but hey, that's part of the San Fermín charm, right? Pure adrenaline!

While other days had their share of drama (those Miura and Núñez del Cuvillo bulls were certainly feisty, leading to a few gorings – yikes!), the July 9th run stood out for its sheer pace and the incredible spectacle of it all. It was a classic San Fermín, packed with thousands of thrill-seekers living out a tradition made famous by none other than Ernest Hemingway himself. What a fiesta!
